We began as a single counter selling lamp oil, writing paper and tea. Four generations later the ledger is thicker but the rule has not changed: stock nothing we would not keep ourselves.
Everything we sell can be repaired, and we will tell you how. Bring a piece back and we will do our best to put it right.

Just arrived and entered into the ledger this week.
From the Ledger
“The lamp arrived wrapped in paper and straw, with a note on how to trim the wick. Nobody does that any more.”
“I have bought from this shop three times. Everything has outlasted what it replaced.”
“A hinge came loose after a year. They told me exactly how to fix it and sent the screw at no charge.”
